“Stories Behind Built Heritage: Old Tai Po Market Railway Station Celebrates 110 Years” Exhibition
The Old Tai Po Market Railway Station, the only railway station built in traditional Chinese architectural style in Hong Kong, was erected in 1913, and 2023 marks its 110th anniversary. This photo exhibition introduces the history and evolution of the station as well as its relationship with the development of the Tai Po community.
About the Museum
Hong Kong Railway Museum is a branch museum of the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. Situated in the town center of Tai Po Market, the Hong Kong Railway Museum is an open-air museum occupying some 6,500 square meters converted from the old Tai Po Market Railway Station. Erected in 1913, the station building features the pitched roof of traditional Chinese building. It was declared a monument in 1984, refurbished and opened as a museum in 1985.
