Collection: In the Mood for Love Inspired Qipao/Cheongsam Collection
Inspired by the elegant and graceful style of Mrs. Chan (played by the stylish Maggie Cheung) in the classic Hong Kong movie 'In the Mood for Love' (2000), this Qipao (or Cheongsam in Cantonese) collection is curated to present a collection of classic and modern styles of Qipao.
我們的旗袍系列以香港經典電影《花樣年華》(2000年)中陳太(張曼玉飾演)的優雅氣質為靈感,精心策劃撰出了-系列能夠呈現出結合經典與現代風格的旗袍。
The Origin:
Qipao (or Banner Gown literally) originated from the long garments of the different banner clans (nobility) of the Manchu region in China during the Qing Dynasty.
The Elegance of the Form:
The form has gradually evolved over time from loose fitting to the form popularised in the 1920s that celebrated the female figure with a longer, form fitting, one piece dress This style of dress is not merely a nod to a sense of history, but also a celebration of the allure of elegance and grace of the wearer.
Qipao is at once a fashionable symbols and also a symbol of fashions in Chinese culture. Its popularity peaked in mid-20th century Hong Kong as it became known as Cheongsam where celebrities paraded everywhere in trendy outfits, exuding graceful beauty. The modern form evolves and epitomizes the fluid blend of eastern style meets western fashion that cheongsams so uniquely enchanted in the movie. We hope this collection of cheongsam brings the classic elegance and grace into your daily style again.
